BLACKSBURG, Va. – Notre Dame won big against Virginia Tech Saturday night.
The Irish marched the field and Dexter Williams punched it in for the touchdown.
Irish took a 7-0 lead.
After a Virginia Tech 3 and out, Notre Dame's 2nd drive, Ian Book went deep and found Chris Finke wide open for a career best 56-yard reception.
That set up Justin Yoon and he entered the game just 8 points shy of the all-time points record.
Yoon’s 31 yard field goal was good and Notre Dame was up 10-nothing.
After two Virginia Tech field goals, Ian Book's pass is intercepted by Reggie Floyd in Irish territory.
That was Book's 1st interception of the season.
Hokies would settle for another field goal and the Irish were up just 10-9.
Willis sacked by Kareem who forced the fumble.
Julian Love recovers and took it to the house 42 yards for the touchdown.
Notre Dame was up 17-9.
That would set up Willis for a 3 yard pass to Damon Hazelton for the touchdown.
Notre Dame 17, Virginia Tech 16 at halftime.
