Notre Dame vs. Virginia Tech: Irish come out on top
BLACKSBURG, Va.-- Undefeated Notre Dame went head-to-head with Virginia Tech Hokies.
First Quarter:
Notre Dame was on the board first with 6 points thanks to a pass to running back Dexter Williams.
Justin Yoon's field goal was good, giving the Irish a total of 7 points.
Another Irish field goal from Yoon moves them up to 10 points.
Irish lead 10-0.
Virginia Tech scores a field goal for 3 points thanks to Brian Johnson.
At the end of the first quarter, Irish are up 10-3.
Second Quarter:
Virginia Tech scored another field goal. It brought the score to 10-6, with the Irish still in the lead at the top of the quarter.

The score was 10 - 9, Irish.
Notre Dame scored another touchdown after a Virginia Tech. fumble.
Irish led 17- 9.
Virginia Tech showed no signs of letting up as they scored a touchdown near the end of the second quarter.
Julian Okwara, defensive lineman for Notre Dame, was ejected from the game for targeting late in the first half of the game.
The Hokies narrowed the Irish lead to one point going into halftime.

Third Quarter:
Notre Dame wasted no time putting more points in the board.
Williams scored a 97-yard rushing touchdown for Notre Dame and they moved up to 24 points.
Ian Book found Miles Boykin for a Notre Dame touchdown.
Yoon's field goal was good and the Irish led 31 - 16.
Fourth Quarter:
Irish pushed their lead to a total of 38 points on a 5-yard touchdown pass to Boykin.
Virginia Tech. reduced the Irish lead thanks to a touchdown by Eric Kumah.
The Hokies brought their score up to 23 points.
Williams scored again for Notre Dame on a 31-yard touchdown run.
Notre Dame led 45 - 23 with less than 5 minutes in the fourth quarter.
There was no stopping the Irish on Saturday night.
They took home the win against Virginia Tech with a final score of 45 - 23.
Notre Dame will face The Pittsburgh Panthers next on Oct. 13th.
