Notre Dame travels to the east coast to take on undefeated Navy in New Jersey
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- For the first time since 1979, the Navy Midshipmen football team is a perfect 6-0 to start the season after a 51-17 beatdown of Charlotte on Saturday, and for the first time in a long time, they will enter their game against Notre Dame with a better record than the Fighting Irish (5-1).
The game will air on ABC57 and our Kickoff Crew of LeVon Whittaker, Allison Hayes, and Vahid Sadrzadeh will be at the neutral-site game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
Notre Dame comes into the game trying to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive after an early-season loss against Northern Illinois has turned the rest of the schedule into virtually must-win games.
Navy is having a Cinderella season and, even though their opponents are a combined 16-26 (not including Notre Dame) so far this season, the Midshipmen did get big wins over 6-1 American Athletic Conference opponent Memphis, and rival Air Force, all while scoring an average of nearly 45 points per game.
Tune into ABC57 at 10 a.m. on Saturday for all the latest news on the game as well as interviews and interactions with some of Notre Dame's biggest names.
