Notre Dame star sophomore Hidalgo named AP Preseason All-American
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame's Hannah Hidalgo will be entering her sophomore season this fall, and after a record-breaking freshman campaign, she will enter the 2024-25 season as a Preseason AP All-American, it was announced on Tuesday.
As part of her phenomenal first season of college basketball, Hidalgo averaged 22.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 4.6 steals per game last year.
Her 22.6 points and 4.6 steals a game were both record setting marks for Notre Dame. She also set the record at Notre Dame and led the entire country in total steals in a season with 160.
Last season, Hidalgo and fellow first-year player JuJu Watkins (USC) earned First Team AP All-America honors, becoming the fourth and fifth freshmen in history to earn the honor.
Earlier this month Hidalgo was named the Preseason ACC Player of the Year, receiving 62 of a possible 78 first-place votes.
