Notre Dame ranked 10th in first CFP ranking
ABC 57 SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are ranked 10th in the first College Football Playoff rankings. The format remains the same as in 2024; the CFP format in 2025 will feature a 12-team field, with some adjustments to seedings this season. Automatic bids go to the top five highest-ranked conference champions. However, unlike 2024, the four highest-ranked teams will receive the top four seeds and a first-round bye, regardless of whether they won their conference. Seven at-large bids are available for non-conference champions.
While the top four seeds get byes, seeds 5-12 will compete in the first round. Here's a look at the top 12 teams:
1 Ohio State 8-0
2 Indiana 9-0
3 Texas A&M 8-0
4 Alabama 7-1
5 Georgia 7-1
6 Ole Miss 8-1
7 BYU 8-0
