SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Notre Dame football took care of business Friday, dominating Oregon State 40-8 in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl, their largest bowl game victory in program history.

For the most part, fans of the Irish are satisfied with the win, but not necessarily the 2023 season as a whole.

“Four starters aren’t playing, and they’ve got the second-string quarterback in.” said longtime fan Dion Bingham. “I’m hoping to see them a little better next season.”

Bingham isn’t the only one not satisfied with Notre Dame’s 10-3 record, but there are still plenty of fans happy with how the year turned out.

“I think it’s going great, we’re improving every single game, and we’re putting on a clinic when we can!” said Irish fan, Brian Carver.

While several Notre Dame players transferred off the team or declared for the NFL draft, the majority of fans were just happy to watch Notre Dame compete and get a glimpse at the future of the team.

“I love Notre Dame football no matter who’s out there playing, coming out with my friends and my family and being able to watch this during the holidays is always special. So, it doesn’t matter who’s playing, it’s just great to see them playing in a bowl game.” said Matthew Bins, who took in the game at a watch-party hosted by Corby’s Irish Pub.

With the win, Notre Dame has secured back-to-back bowl victories for the first time since 2013-2014 and completed their sixth season in seven years with ten wins or more.
