ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Notre Dame’s defensive backs and safeties coach Chris O’Leary is working hard to get his players prepared and ready to uphold the team’s defensive dominance in the 2022-2023 season.
With the departure of top NFL prospect safety Kyle Hamilton, O’Leary wants his players to continue to improve while staying competitive at the defensive back and safety positions.
“I’ve seen competitive excellence and that’s what the most important thing coming out of, the most important thing coming out of spring is to make this group a competitive group. So, handling some new defenses, some of the old defenses, working through it. But ultimately, going out there and competing every day, whether it’s one on one, seven on seven. What we care about is guys going out thinking about winning the rep every time,” said O’Leary.
Practices and preparations will continue as the Irish get ready to play in the Blue-Gold game in a few weeks on April 23.
