Notre Dame defeats Stanford in home game 49-7

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame trumps Stanford in a high-scoring game, 49 to 7, securing a victory for the Fighting Irish.

In the first quarter with Justin Lamson scored a 1-yard touchdown rush for Stanford, followed by Riley Leonard’s 6-yard rushing touchdown for Notre Dame, tying the game at 7-7.

The second quarter saw Leonard connected with Jayden Thomas for a 15-yard touchdown pass, and later with Kris Mitchell for a 5-yard touchdown, pushing the lead to 21-7.

The momentum continued in the third quarter as Jadarian Price rushed for a 16-yard touchdown, and Jeremiyah Love broke free for a 39-yard touchdown run. Leonard then found Eli Raridon for a 5-yard touchdown pass, extending the lead to 42-7.

The game was temporarily delayed during the third quarter due to lightning weather conditions. Players and spectators left the field until it was safe to continue playing.

In the final quarter, Aneyas Williams capped off the scoring with a 19-yard touchdown rush, sealing the game with a final score of at 49-7.

Kickers Mitch Jeter, Zac Yoakam, and Marcello Diomede all secured an extra point field goal following each touchdown.
