NILES, Mich. - NFL Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson Jr., famously known as “Megatron” was in town Wednesday, speaking at the annual Niles Chamber of Commerce’s luncheon.
Johnson is also a co-founder of a local cannabis dispensary, Primitiv, giving him the chance to talk about the growing industry in Southwest Michigan and all the tourism and development it's bringing to the area.
"Where we're trying to take cannabis innovation, that is what's going to bring on the new customers, that's where, with research and new data, we'll be able to unveil really the healing powers of this plant and bring on a certain level of quality of life for the masses," Johnson said.
Business leaders talked about their visions, priorities and challenges affecting the Niles economy, crediting the cannabis industry for bringing more people to the area.
