New Prairie wins first baseball state championship

SAINT JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. --The New Prairie baseball team won their first ever baseball state championship Friday night, June 14, at Victory field in Indianapolis. 

In the Class 3A state championship game against Brebeuf Jesuit, New Prairie defeated Brefeuf 7-2.

They were able to get the job done thanks to a four-run fourth inning, with a stellar outing from starting pitcher, Tyson Greenwood. 

New Prairie took advantage and capitalized on Brebeuf's errors to take the lead.
