New Indiana Treatment Centers opening in Mishawaka

NOW: New Indiana Treatment Centers opening in Mishawaka

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- A new state of the art drug and alcohol treatment facility has opened its doors in Mishawaka and offers treatment for both substance use disorders and mental health conditions.

This new facility is the second Indiana location, with the first being in Columbus.

The grand opening of this new location represents a significant expansion of access to high-quality treatment in northern Indiana.

The Mishawaka location provides medically supported and clinically intensive residential treatment, including care for individuals with co-occurring mental health conditions and couples seeking treatment together.

"One of the things that we care most about at Indiana treatment center is really making sure that we're able to open the doors to everybody that needs care." Said Brandon George of Indiana Treatment Center. "Unfortunately, while we've seen a great increase in need for beds for substance use disorder in Indiana, a lot of those places don't serve the full community, and so making sure that we are set up in a way that we can help people coming from a hospital or from an employer or from the court system or from a loved one is really important to us, and so we're grateful to be here, grateful to be part of the community, serving the community."

John Horsley, Regional Executive Director, told ABC57 there will be a third facility opening in Muncie to provide coverage across the state of Indiana.

"We will have a total of three facilities Columbus, Muncie and Mishawaka, and our goal is to have those treatment centers and a whole system of care built out in all of those communities that have high needs and have traditionally been underserved, and having the one kind of in the middle of the state, one in the north and one in the south, that gives Hoosiers a real chance to have access to our services."
