New clinic for DOT/CDL drivers opens in Plymouth

PLYMOUTH, Ind.--- A new clinic opened in Plymouth Saturday that caters specifically towards CDL and DOT drivers. DOT STOP, located on Gary Drive off of U.S. 30, aims to bridge the gap between truckers and appointments with their primary care physicians.

DOT STOP offers medical exams, prescription services, and physicals in addition to providing other medical services. Deborah Castile, the clinic's owner, is the first female physician's assistant to own her own private clinic in the state of Indiana.

"They need to have healthy lifestyles in order to function on the highway and with us being here we can help manage healthcare when they are unable to get back to their primary providers in a timely matter and if their on medications we can help keep them on their schedule until they are able to see their primary physician," said Castille.

Castille is the daughter of a trucker and saw the need for a clinic that fit a driver's busy schedule during her 26 years as a physician's assistant. This need moved her to open DOT STOP, a 24 hour, seven day a week clinic.

"it came to me after seeing all the DOT drivers, and I’ve been doing this for 26 years, that there was a real need and I could participate in trucking and the professional driving industry as a medical provider and make a difference," said Castille.
