Multi-vehicle crash in Berrien County leaves one male dead

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- A multi-vehicle crash leaves one male dead.

Just around 7:12 p.m. Berrien County officers responded to a three-vehicle crash on US 12, near the US 31 bypass.

After further investigation, a 2015 Jeep Cherokee driven by 57-year-old male sideswiped a 2013 Hyundai Sonata going Eastbound on US 12.

The collision caused the Jeep to lose control, crossing the median, and then got hit by a Ford F350 that was traveling Westbound on US 12.

The driver of the Jeep was ejected during the crash and was pronounced dead on scene.

Two occupants of the F350 suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

The Hyundai Driver suffered minor injuries but refused medical attention on scene.

This crash remains under investigation by the Berrien County Sheriff's Office traffic crash reconstruction unit.
