Notre Dame's women's basketball team headed to Elite Eight

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Muffet McGraw and her squad are headed to the Elite Eight once again after an impressive performance from Marina Mabrey to put the Fighting Irish over the top of Texas A&M in Saturday's Regional semifinal.

The Irish were down 13-points in the first half but rallied in the second to fend off the Aggies 90-84 for the victory.

According to a team release, Mabrey was 7-11 from the three-point line, as the team went 10-18 behind the arc in the win.

This was the first time the Aggies and Irish have met since the 2011 national title game which the Irish also left with a victory.

Muffet McGraw is not unfamiliar with the Elite Eight as her team has been there 7 of the last 8 seasons.

The Fighting Irish will play either the Central Michigan Chippewas or the Oregon Ducks in the next round of NCAA Tournament play.
