There are still a few light snow showers this morning but it’ll taper off into the afternoon. System snow moves in this evening, bringing moderate snowfall in to Saturday morning. Most areas will see around 1-3” from the system. Lake effect snow develops behind the system, creating low visibility in NW Michiana and racking up snow totals into Saturday evening. Travel could be rough and slow going at times.
Lake effect snow continues into Sunday with highs crashing back down into the low teens. Wind chill over the weekend will be below zero and could be dangerous if you are not dressed properly for the cold. As many head out to celebrate New Year’s Eve, roads could be slick and it will be frigid! New Year’s Day looks is bitter cold but we’ll see more sunshine.
Today: Mostly cloudy, snow starting by the evening, high of 18.
Tonight: Light snow, cloudy, low 10.
Saturday: Lake effect snow, high of 14.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy, lake effect snow, highs in the low teens.
