Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library to host storytime with local professional basketball player on August 2

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library (MPHPL) has announced that they will be hosting Devin Cannady, a local professional basketball player at the downtown Mishawaka Library.

Cannady is from Mishawaka and has played in the NBA for the Orlando Magic and currently plays in the G League for the Birmingham Squadron.

The event will take place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 2 and he will read his self-published book Aliya Can, which was written for his daughter Aliya.

The book aims to inspire children to achieve their dreams as Aliya, the main character in the book, believes that she can do anything.

Cannady will sign copies after the storytime and each family in attendance will receive a free autographed copy.

Everyone is welcome to attend, and no registration is required.
