MISHAWAKA, Ind. – One man is dead due to a crash on Jefferson Road in front of the Marathon gas station.

Mishawaka Police say 46-year-old John Williams was found dead at the scene.

Police were called to Phoenix Bar on Lincolnway West on Saturday just before 1 a.m. because of a fight.

When officers saw the woman accused of starting the fight trying to get away on a motorcycle, they began to chase her.

Williams, the driver of the motorcycle, began to speed up and ended up crashing on Jefferson Road.

The woman was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team are investigating the crash.

The name of the officer involved and the woman have not been released.
