LANSING, Mich. – A new law will require Michigan public schools to put a suicide prevention hotline number on student IDs.
This law requires an accessible suicide hotline number to be placed on student identification cards in grades six through 12.
The new law also requires the state health department to provide mental health and suicide information to schools if they request it.
