Michigan City man charged with child solicitation

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- The Indiana State Police have arrested a Michigan City man for allegedly soliciting an underage child to engage in sexual conduct.

The Indiana State Police received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about the man's activities on a social media site.

The investigation revealed Jonathan Schuette, 42, had been communicating with a minor since 2018. He allegedly contacted the child about engaging in sexual conduct, police said.

Schuette has been preliminarily charged with one count of child solicitation.
