Marshall County crash send three to the hospital

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Marshall County Sheriff's Department responded to a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of S.R. 10 and U.S. 31 on Friday afternoon that sent three people to the hospital, one with incapacitating injuries.

Authorities say the call came in around 4:48 p.m. on July 12 and after initial investigation is it alleged that a 1999 Ford Econline van driven by 75-year-old William Halliar of Michigan City was heading north on U.S. 31 when Hilliar swerved to avoid a collision with a vehicle when his van hit a 2019 Ford Eco Sport driven by a 30-year-old Kewanna, Ind woman.

That collision caused damage to a third vehicle, a 2022 Honda CRV driven by a 36-year-old woman from Westfield, Ind.

As a result of the crash, 73-year-old Jeannie Halliar of Michigan City was taken to the hospital via helicopter while William Halliar was taken to Memorial Hospital via ambulance for minor injuries.

The 30-year-old driver of the Ford was also taken the Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.
