Man sentenced to 17 years in prison for dealing methamphetamine

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- A Star City man was sentenced to over 17 years in prison for dealing methamphetamine, according to the La Porte County Prosecutor’s Office.

Tony Clemons Jr, 42, was sentenced on Friday to 17.5 years in prison to be served consecutive to a parole violation. He is also facing charges in Starke County.

In April 2019, Clemons was arrested at a local motel after investigators with the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office and La Porte Police served a search warrant at his motel.

Nearly 18 grams of methamphetamine, scales and packaging materials were seized from the room, according to prosecutors.

Clemons pleaded guilty to one count of dealing in methamphetamine.
