Man involved in stolen vehicle chase across state lines dies

The man involved in a stolen vehicle chase from South Bend to Niles Township on September 14 died at the hospital on Tuesday, according to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies identified the man as 45-year-old Darrell Goodwin of South Bend.

Goodwin was accused of driving a stolen vehicle across state lines while police tried to stop him.

During the chase, Goodwin allegedly hit another vehicle and crashed into a traffic sign before running from the scene.
