Man charged with sexual, domestic battery in South Bend

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - A man is charged with sexual battery and domestic battery after allegedly hitting a victim with a guitar and forcing himself on her in South Bend, according to court documents.

Guillermo Aviles is being held on a $5,000 bond for the charges.

On Sunday, officers with the South Bend Police Department were called to an apartment for a report of a female who had been assaulted and locked in a basement.

When they got to the scene, they met Aviles, who, when prompted, confirmed there was a female in the basement.

Police met with the victim, who said she needed medical attention.

According to the victim, Aviles hit her with a guitar and sexually assaulted her.

The initial hearing for Aviles is scheduled for November 22.
