DOWAGIAC, Mich. -- A 56-year-old man has been arrested following a stabbing victim making his way to the Dowagiac Police Department Sunday afternoon.

Around 5:10 p.m. Sunday, a man went to the Dowagiac Police Department to report he'd been stabbed at a residence on Spruce Street. After officers rendered aid, the man was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the victim, he'd been in an argument with a family member that turned physical, leading to the stabbing.

Officers visited the residence, finding the suspect and taking him into custody, where he was preliminarily charged with Assault with Intent to Murder.
