MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Mishawaka Police arrested a 30-year-old man who they say attacked random people at Central Park then tried to steal an SUV at around 3:30pm on Saturday. One of the victims and several other people at the park held the suspect, William Winters, until police arrived.

“He just all of the sudden started swinging at him.” Danielle Denny, one of the victims, said.

Denny was leaving the park with her boyfriend and her 2-year-old daughter when Winters flagged down their SUV. She says he approached the open driver's side window and immediately started punching her boyfriend in the face.

“I was like who are you? What do you want?” She said.

Denny's daughter watched the entire thing from the backseat of the vehicle.

“Me and her were in there. I don’t know what could have happened. That’s what I think about.” Denny said.

Denny's boyfriend was able to fight Winters back, get out of the car and chase Winters down with the help of others at the park.

“As soon as Chris was able to get out of the car, he chased after him and gave him what he deserved.” She said.

Police also arrested 18-year-old Bryce Holland, who was with Winters. According to charging documents, Holland attempted to pull Denny's boyfriend off of Winters as he and other people in the park were detaining him.
