SOUTH BEND, Ind. - A long-awaited grocery store in downtown South Bend may finally open its doors this month, after years of delays and controversy.
Dave Matthews, the developer of the East Race Market, told ABC57 that a grand opening ceremony is now scheduled for January 11.
The opening comes after lengthy controversy with the city, who tried suing Matthews after being granted $5 million to finish the project.
