NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- One of the highlights of the summer, LOGAN's Run, is underway on the beautiful campus of Notre Dame.

On Saturday morning, competitors of all abilities and spectators turned out for the 16th annual event which features chip-timed 10K/5K runs and a 1-mile Fun Walk which began at White Field.

“LOGAN’S Run has become a tradition and highlight of the summer for many people in our community,” said Jill Langford, LOGAN Chief Development Officer. “It’s for anyone of any ability. It’s just an amazing day for everyone.”

Organizers promise fun activities for the whole family including a Family FunFest with carnival-type rides as well as games. The Family FunFest opens at 9 a.m. and lasts until the event's conclusion at noon.

Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third-place winners from each age group.

This year’s highlights include:

  • Penn High School Girls’ Soccer Team returning to put on Family Fest.
  • The National Anthem will be sung by Chris Clayton who attended The Studios at LOGAN.
  • Fleet Feet Ambassadors running with competitor, Ryan Bear, a Logan client in a racing wheelchair. Bear has Wolf-Hirschborn syndrome, a chromosome abnormality, and looks forward to the run each year.

Team ABC 57 will be there with Vahid Sadrzadeh and Meteorologists Emily Kennedy and Alex Countee.

Logan’s Run raises money for supportive services for children and adults living with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Organizers hope this year tops last year’s event which raised $85,000.

Parking for all is available at White Field on Douglas Road located on the north side of the Notre Dame campus east of State Road 933.

Parking attendants will be available help direct traffic.
