ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - More than 150 students across five South Bend schools showcased their artwork Friday night.
Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders presented one-of-a-kind masterpieces at the Colfax Campus Gallery at the South Bend Heritage Foundation.
Students from Dickinson Fine Arts Academy created abstract designs and self-portraits.
Lasalle had its students paint scenes based on a feeling.
Other masterpieces featured everything from food-inspired sculptures to scenic depictions of the beach at sunset.
Elise Florance, a sixth grader at Lasalle Academy, said, "What inspired me the most was that, since I'm so busy, I wanted to be calm a lot of the time. And so, through my art, I envisioned myself being calm. And because I tried to be calm, doing art made me feel calm."
Friday night marks the 35th Annual Intermediate School Exhibit Reception.
If you want to check it out, the Intermediate School Exhibit will be on display until April 19.
