Indiana Gubernatorial Debate Recap
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – Local marching bands competed in Indianapolis on Saturday for the ISSMA State Finals.
Penn, Northwood, John Glenn and Fairfield were in attendance to prove that they are some of the best in the State.
The Penn Marching Kingsmen have made the journey 22 times, but say that every time is special and unique.
“Well it’s quite an honor because there are a lot of great bands that don’t make it into this contest including our band many many times. So I think our students appreciate the fact that it’s not easily achieved and they worked very hard for it and they are honored to be there to represent their school and their community,” said Glenn Northern, Director of Bands at Penn High School.
40 different bands competed in Lucas Oil Stadium, with four schools coming out on top as State Champions.
Penn placed ninth in class A, while Northwood placed third and John Glenn placed eighth in class C and Fairfield placed seventh in class D.
