SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Humane Society of St. Joseph County has announced a partnership with Afdent Dentistry that will sponsor all adoptions from Thanksgiving through the end of the year.

Afdent Owner Dr. Roger Pecina, who adopted a cat from the Humane Society several years ago, says he is passionate about supporting the shelter’s mission, and, after experiencing firsthand the positive impact the shelter has on both animals and the community, he decided to sponsor all adoption fees through the end of the year.

Humane Society officials say this will allow more pets to find loving homes in time for the holidays.

"After adopting Dax from the Humane Society, I knew I wanted to give back," said Pecina, owner of Afdent. "The Humane Society does incredible work in our community, and I’m excited to help more animals find their forever homes this holiday season by sponsoring all adoption fees."

The sponsorship covers all cats and dogs, regardless of age.

"We are deeply grateful for Dr. Pecina’s support," said Genny Brown, Executive Director of the Humane Society of St. Joseph County. "This sponsorship will make a huge difference, helping us find homes for more animals in need. It’s an amazing gift for both the animals and the families who are ready to give them a forever home."

Adoptions are available during regular shelter hours, and interested families can visit the Humane Society’s website.

"The Humane Society encourages potential adopters to stop by Monday-Saturday 2 p.m. 4:30 p.m. and meet the animals available for adoption," adoption officials said.
