ABC 57 MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- Many customers are without power in the Plymouth area after NIPSCO and REMC both reported outages.
More than 2,700 NIPSCO customers are without power with the cause unclear. According to NIPSCO, expected restoration times range from 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. ET.
According to Marshall County REMC, this was believed to be a transmission issue with its provider. Approximately 650 REMC customers were without power, but the company says the issue has since been resolved. Any customers with further issues are asked to call 574-936-3161.
Plymouth Community Schools has released all students early for the day due to the widespread power outages.
