LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The Thursday tornado that tore into western La Porte County last week was an EF-3 Tornado, that tracked over 20 miles across Lake and Porter counties, ending in LaPorte county.
The EF-3 Tornado had a peak wind speed of 165 mph, but the tornado began to weaken as it moved into LaPorte County to an EF-1 with damage assessed up to 90 mph, south of Wanatah.
The damage from the Kouts Tornado will be listed on the National Weather Service Chicago office page, as the storm started in their jurisdiction.
