Lane closures in Bertrand Township

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Road Department of Berrien County announced that there will be lane closures along Portage Road, between U.S. 12 and Briar Road, beginning on Monday.
Construction crews will be working to widen and trench this stretch of Portage Road.
Traffic will still be allowed to flow by following the direction of flaggers within the construction zone.
This means drivers should be prepared for reduced speeds and be aware of the construction workers while commuting in this area.
The department estimates construction for this project should be completed by August 7 depending on weather conditions.
