SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Ireland Road will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction between Michigan Street and Ironwood Drive through the end of June starting Wednesday.

This lane restriction comes as the next phase of work begins on the Ireland Road Pavement Project, involving paving a 2.8-mile stretch of the road from the western city limits to Ironwood Drive.

This phase includes installing new curbs, patching portions of roadway ahead of paving in June, and shifting the southwest curb at St. Joseph intersection to improve right turns for large vehicles.

The lane restrictions are expected to remain through the end of June.
