Indiana Michigan Power makes progress with storm restoration

Indiana Michigan Power

THREE RIVERS, Mich. -- Indiana Michigan Power confirmed as of 9 p.m. the majority of residents who lost power from Friday's storm have been restored.

520 customers remain without power, due to extensive damage and crews’ inability to access those areas for much of the day.

Those who remain without power and are able to receive power at their homes and businesses will be restored by Sunday.

For the safety of crews and customers, it is imperative that the public avoid the areas where damage has taken place and restoration efforts are underway.

Please do not move or go around barriers. Do not approach our crews or trucks, especially if the buckets are in the air.

Some safety tips include:

  • If you’re helping with cleanup, stay away from any downed wires and anything they’re touching
  • Look up and be aware of your surroundings
  • If a stoplight isn’t working, treat it as a stop sign
  • When using a generator, connect all appliances directly to the generator
