Indiana Department of Homeland Security opens applications for relief fund

STARKE COUNTY, Ind. -- On Thursday, the Indiana Department of Homeland Security announced that it had opened applications to the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) for Individual Assistance.

The SDRF is tended for Indiana residents whose homes or properties sustained damage due to the severe storms and tornados in Starke, Jasper, and Newton Counties on Tuesday, Mar. 10.

The SDRF is meant for help with immediate needs and funds available up to $25,000 for eligible applicants and Individual Assistance can be applied for at the SDRF website.

The SDRF only applies to those who are uninsured or underinsured and is not currently accepting applications for its Public Assistance program.
