ETNA GREEN, Ind. -- At approximately 6:28 a.m. on Tuesday, several emergency personnel were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash in the 1600 block of S.R. 19 involving a semi-truck.

36-year-old Illinois man, Nedal A. Elabed was traveling northbound on S.R. 19 when suddenly, with no known reason, his semi-truck left the east side of the road and collided with a tree.

Elabed was then freed from the cabin of the vehicle and airlifted by Samaritan helicopter to South Bend Memorial for treatment.

Etna Green Fire Department, Atwood Fire Department, Lutheran EMS, Mentone Police Department, Indiana State Police, Samaritan Air, and Reichert & Knepp Wrecker Service all assisted at the scene of the crash.
