NOW: Hurricanes defeated by Hoosiers to win CFP Championship

MIAMI, Fla. -- The Hoosiers celebrated all night long in Miami Monday night as chapter two of the Curt Cignetti era ended perfectly.

Post game coach Cignetti joked that while he could retire on top right now, his family needs the money, and what would he do if he didn't have to watch film all day?

Cignetti's daughter confirmed with ABC57 that when he does watch last night's tape, he will smile along with the rest of the newly crowned champs out of Bloomington.

Charlie Becker, Hoosiers wide receiver, stated, "It's just the band of brothers that we have and the group of guys, as soon as we came in here, as soon as everyone was in here in the winter, in the spring, we immediately got to work. And, you know, again, I just I love these guys so much."

As the off season gets underway, Indiana is your favorite to win next year's national championship, despite the fact that they're going to lose their Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza, along with his little brother, Alberto, who hopped in the portal today, plus starters on either side of the ball are graduating.

Starting left tackle Carter Smith spoke to ABC57 post-game, and said his plan is to run it back in Bloomington next year, along with the rest of the transfers that plan to join the next power of college football for now.
