BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Thursday evening, the Berrien County Commissioners approved a new brownfield plan for the parcels of line the Harbor Shores development is to be built on. 21 acres of this land were previously two Whirlpool plants.
There was originally another plan in place for this land, but no development had been done to the site since 2005.
This plan represents the last phase before construction begins later this year.
Full completion of construction is set for 2036.
The site will be home to 216 units with five different types of housing as well as a hotel:
- Townhomes - 107 units
- Courtyard homes - 27 units
- Loft condos - 20 units
- Apartments - 24 rentals
- Villas - 38 units
