SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame's star point guard Hannah Hidalgo's foundation, Hannah's Helping Hands, is hosting its first annual back-to-school backpack giveaway.
Wednesday, October 2 at 5 p.m. at the Aloft Hotel in downtown South Bend, Hidalgo along with her family will present at least 40 students with backpacks and supplies.
The Hidalgo family is inviting South Bend K-8th graders to attend.
The Aloft Hotel is located at 111 N. Main Street, South Bend, Ind. 46601.
Hannah's Helping Hands looks to provide outreach and philanthropic efforts rooted in sports, health, education, financial literacy and support with diversity in mind.
