Grassroot leaders and residents urge education funding support for school board

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. --Grassroots Benton Harbor leaders and residents will host a demonstration on Tuesday, June 25, at 5:00 p.m., to urge local and state leaders to prioritize funding for the area's schools.

This demonstration will take place right before a school board budget hearing and allow Grassroots youth activists and leaders to voice their concerns regarding robust funding to address urgent solutions from public school communities, staff and students.

During the demonstration, story shares will reveal emergencies around equal access to safe neighborhood schools and streets from the boardroom to the classrooms, mental health support and a culturally responsive life skills curriculum for today's youth.

The demonstration will be specifically located at, Benton Harbor High School: 870 Colfax Ave, Benton Harbor, MI 49022, near circle drive.

FRESH START organizers with We the People Action Fund will also be part of this demonstration.
