Governor Whitmer meets with Benton Harbor residents and local leaders Tuesday to discuss water issues

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer met with residents and local leaders in Benton Harbor on Tuesday to discusses what actions the government is taking to provide safe drinking water to the city.

Governor Whitmer recently signed an executive directive implementing an all-hands-on-deck government approach to coordinate efforts to provide safe drinking water to the City of Benton Harbor.

Governor Whitmer’s administration has a goal to replace 100% of lead service lines in Benton Harbor in 18 months.

She also called on the legislature to full fund the cost of the replacement project with an additional $11.4 million investment.
