From no interest in Notre Dame, to season tickets and a fan cave

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- It's no secret that Notre Dame has some of the most dedicated fans in all of college football.

Now, ABC57 is taking you inside some of the homes of the Irish faithful, for Domer Dens.

Who doesn't enjoy a good love story? And we aren't talking about former running back Jeremiyah Love.

Football can bring people together, but some Irish love stories are a little unorthodox.

"I was not a Notre Dame fan at all, I knew nothing about Notre Dame, I'm from Texas so it's either the Aggies or the Longhorns," said Keisha Larson.

Roger Larson and his wife Keisha do not have your typical Notre Dame fandom meet cute story and they wouldn't have it any other way.

Keisha wouldn't have gone to a Notre Dame game if you paid her.

But that all changed Nov. 20, 2021, when Notre Dame welcomed Georgia Tech to South Bend.

"When I married him, I said, 'I will support your team,' and he brought me to Notre Dame and I fell in love with the school, the students, with everything," said Keisha.

From nothing to do with the blue and gold to season tickets.

That's how things go now in the Larson house.

This fan cave inside their Mishawaka home isn't just covered with mementos, each one carries a story, and some feature a few of their favorite marital moments.

But it all started with a gift from Keisha. A signed Joe Montana jersey, Roger's favorite player.

"He was shocked, I can probably say that's the only time I've ever seen this jersey boy speechless, it was a special moment," said Keisha.

From there, the collection has grown, and grown, and grown some more.

Besides the Montana jersey, Roger says his favorite piece of the fan cave is the Tom Zbikowski signed jersey.

"Grew up a big fan of his as well, he was just an awesome player so getting that jersey was just awesome as well," said Roger.

The pair have travelled across the country, watching their beloved Irish duke it out on the gridiron.

Whether they're watching on the road, at Notre Dame Stadium, or on the massive projector in their backyard, Roger and Keisha will cheer, cheer for old Notre Dame together.

"To see her point out a whole bunch of stuff that she's found for sale, or events that are going on related to these sports teams, it's just been fun and that's something we get to share together," said Roger.

Roger tells ABC57 he's still looking to add some pieces to the collection, including a Jerome Bettis signed mini helmet.
