Snow is done for most of Michiana, although lake effect snow showers are still expected in southwest Michigan throughout this morning. Although most of the area is calming down in that regard, we still have the bitter cold to deal with over the next few days. Temperatures start below zero this morning, feeling for many like the negative teens and 20's. Temperatures this afternoon will likely top out in the lower single digits, but feeling much colder. A wind chill advisory is in place for all of Michiana now through tomorrow at noon, although this could be extended. Breezy winds lasting all day long with keep our wind chills below zero, if you have to be outside, limit exposure to the cold as much as possible by bundling up and getting indoors whenever you can. When feels-like temperatures are in the neighborhood of 25 degrees below zero, frost bite to exposed skin is possible within just 30 minutes. Most road salt is ineffective below 15 degrees, so icy roads will be difficult to treat for a few days still - take it slow and stay safe. This frigid cold stays in place over Michiana through Tuesday, before temperatures return to the teens Wednesday.
