Former Irish quarterback Sam Hartman drafted to UFL's Birmingham Stallions

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- In the ninth round with the Birmingham Stallions' ninth pick in the 2024 UFL College Draft, they selected Sam Hartman, former quarterback from Notre Dame and current Washington Commanders' UDFA (undrafted rookie free agent) quarterback.

Hartman was the only former Irish player selected in the 2024 UFL College Draft.

The Commanders gave Hartman a contract with a $20,000 signing bonus and $245,000 in guaranteed money. 

According to ESPN, UDFA contracts have evolved from strictly using a capped-out signing bonus to offering guaranteed money on the base salaries of contracts.
