Plymouth man arrested on charges of dealing meth Wednesday
MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff's Department Drug Task Force are reporting the arrest of a 46-year-old Plymouth man who served a short stint with the Indiana State Police on charges of Dealing in Methamphetamine.
The suspect, Nathan Austin John Vanderaa, was taken into custody near the intersection of Walnut and Madison Streets in Plymouth on Wednesday (Jan. 8) after being the target of an investigation that resulted in a warrant being issued for his arrest.
ISP states that Vanderaa was appointed on Dec. 13, 1999, and discharged May 24, 2000, while still on his probationary year.
Court documents state that Vanderaa knowingly delivered or financed the delivery of meth, between one and five grams in weight.
Authorities say they believe Vanderaa sold or deliver meth while he was out on bond from a previous case when he is charged with Dealing in Methamphetamine that was filed in June of 2024.
"The allegations contained in the probable cause affidavit supporting the issuance of the arrest warrant executed on Wednesday are alleged to have occurred while Vanderaa was free on a $50,000 cash bond he previously posted on a pending charge of Dealing in Methamphetamine filed in June 2024 in Marshall Superior Court 1," authorities said.
He is currently being held on a $250,000 cash bond.
“I am grateful for the work of the Marshall County Drug Task Force, Det. Sgt. Bryant, and the collaborative efforts of the officers from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department that safely conducted this operation resulting in the arrest," said Marshall County Prosecuting Attorney Nelson Chipman.
