Ford’s Willow Run Bomber Plant
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Studebaker Museum is having a special event on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Wiekamp Auditorium.
Join Curator of Transportation Matt Anderson at the Henry Ford Museum in his presentation on Ford’s Willow Run plant that produced over 8,600 B-24 bombers during WWII.
The presentation will cover Willow Run’s wartime and postwar history.
Willow Run was located near Ypsilanti, Michigan and built nearly half of the B-24’s during WWII and transitioned to peacetime production when hostilities ceased.
When Willow Run was at its highest it employed more than 42,000 staff members.
Tickets for the event are $2 for non-members and free for Studebaker National Museum members.
