Football legend Joe Montana collaborates with Gold Bar Whiskey for a 49ers inspired bottle collection
Joe Montana's multi-spirit collection will first release with No.273 this September and is inspired by Montana's retired 49ers jersey with gold bar designed bottled lacquered in red and gold.
No.273 is a triple-casked American whiskey (double-casked in red wine barrels then, triple-casked in cognac barrels and raked over in oak staves) with a three-grain mash bill of corn, rye and barley.
With notes of dried fruit, spice and berries, this 82-proof blend is one that offers a varied selection for game-day beverages "with a twist of nostalgia," said Montana.
No.273 is not just about the flavor, but also the presentation.
Artist Rita Oak, known for the athletic inspired one-of-a-kind art, crafted a bottle that included a throwback to Montana's 49ers career in the 70s and 80s, along with Montana's signature.
Montana is excited to partner with the multi-award-winning distillery, Gold Bar Spirits Company and master blender Monty Paulsen.
“From the unique flavor profiles to the meaningful blend numbers and creative designs, [...] collaborating with the team at Gold Bar Whiskey to develop this collection has been a fun experience,” said Montana.
Bottle No.237 is retails for $59.99 and in time for the holidays, the five-bottle collection "Joe Montana Championship Collection" sells for $299.99.
Make sure to find a west coast friend, because No.273 is exclusively sold in Northern California at the Gold Bar Visitor Center on Treasure Island (1 Avenue of the Palms, Treasure Island, San Francisco, CA 94130).
The limited blend, No. 117- a 16-year 95-proof whiskey, will be available nationwide in the fall, with more releases next year. Check Gold Bar's website for retailers.
