Fire at Plymouth's Heartland Art Center, no injuries reported
Heartland Art Center PLYMOUTH, Ind. -- Wednesday afternoon, the Heartland Art Center experienced a fire within the building.
Fire crews reported a structure fire on Michigan Street and remained on scene for just over two hours to contain and extinguish the flames.
There were no reported injuries to either civilians or responders during operations.
Mutual aid assistance was provided by the LaPaz Fire Department, Argos Fire Department, and Culver Fire Department.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
In a public statement from the Heartland Art Center, staff expressed their gratitude to the responders saying, "We are incredibly grateful to share that our staff are safe, and our artwork was not damaged...Our historic building means so much to us and to Plymouth. While this is a setback, it could have been far worse, and for that we are deeply thankful."
