WILL COUNTY, Ill. – The Will County Sheriff’s Office in Illinois say they discovered 2,246 medically preserved fetal remains at the property of Dr. Ulrich Klopfer, a former South Bend abortionist who recently passed away.
The remains were discovered after the Will County Coroner’s Office was contacted by an attorney representing Klopfer.
The attorney was going through Klopfer’s personal property.
The Will County Coroner’s Office then contacted the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Will County Sherrif’s Office. Officials then conducted a search of the property in unincorporated Will County.
It is not known if medical procedures took place at the property.
The family is cooperating with the investigation.
In 2014, Klopfer was investigated for improper record keeping involving a 13-year-old girl.
His abortion clinic closed down after losing its license in 2016 after an investigation revealed that the clinic did not comply with Indiana law.
